Sensible Soccer (later released as Sensible Soccer: European Champions) is a highly popular football game from the early 90s that still retains the renown of being one of the most addictive and playable sports games ever existed on the gaming industry! It was developed in 1992 by Sensible Software for the Commodore Amiga and the Atari ST computers, and followed by a PC (MS-DOS) version (converted by Wave Software). The Sensible Soccer series were also released, in various versions such as the Sensible Soccer: International Edition, for the SNES, Game Boy, Mega Drive / Genesis, Atari Jaguar, Sega CD, Sega Game Gear, Sega Master System, Acorn Archimedes and the Microsoft XBOX!

Sensible SoccerSTORY / GAMEPLAY
Sensible Soccer is a football game, so there's no actual story here. The aim is to choose your favorite team and win all the matches until you become the champion. Sensible Soccer offers a bunch of editable National, Club or custom teams and its gameplay is based on a relatively simple and user-friendly control scheme. A trademark of this game is its visuals, consisted of tiny and funny looking players and a perspective that allows the player to see a relative large area of the field, giving the game a great arcade feeling! The International Edition is a slightly improved version of the original, including some slight gameplay adjustments, and red and yellow cards. The gameplay is great fun (and funny at the same time), while the controls are accurate (though some practice is needed to learn them). Worldwide, Sensible Soccer is among the "most played" games in the gaming industry as Sensible Software created once more a true masterpiece (as they did with their Cannon Fodder series). No matter its version, Sensible Soccer is surely a great, an addictive and a very entertaining game, especially when is played like a "tournament among friends".

GRAPHICS / SOUND
Sensible Soccer is played from a zoomed-out "bird's eye" perspective (much like the renowned Kick Off series with the only difference spotted on the height of the camera). The game's visuals (though tiny) look fantastic, supporting only VGA graphics cards, and they have a humorous style combined with some incredibly smooth and fast action! Actually, the whole "tiny looking package" and the awesome gameplay are the reasons that made this game so popular! Developers decided to make Sensible Soccer after playing around with sprites from Mega-Lo-Mania (also released by Sensible Software) and deciding to use them in a football game!
The sound is equally great and features a cool variety of sampled football sound effects plus some nice music tunes at the game menus.
